4.4 Magnitude Quake Jolts Northern Pakistan, Second Tremor in Two Days

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck parts of northern and northwestern Pakistan on Saturday.
•
The tremor occurred at 9:30 am local time, with its epicentre 11 kms northeast of Burhan, Attock, at a depth of 14 kilometres.
•
Tremors were felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi; no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
•
This is the second quake in two days, following a 5.9 magnitude temblor on Friday originating from Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region.
•
Earthquakes are common in northern Pakistan due to its location where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
