Absconding History-Sheeter Nabbed in Pune After Year-Long Manhunt

• Sunny alias Dyaneshwar Shamrao Athawale (28), a history-sheeter from Beed, was arrested in Pune after a year on the run.
• Athawale was wanted in seven serious offenses, including murder and firearm use, registered at Shivajinagar, Pethbeed, and Kaij police stations in Beed district.
• He was also booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
• Police used technical surveillance and intelligence-based tracking to locate Athawale, who had been constantly changing locations.
• A tip-off led Beed police to Pune, where they laid a trap and apprehended him; he is now being brought back to Beed for legal proceedings.
