AMU, University of Houston Ink MoU for Academic Collaboration
•Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) signed an MoU with the University of Houston to expand joint academic research, faculty development, and instructional programmes.
•The agreement, supported by the Consulate General of India, Houston, aims to foster knowledge, inclusion, and global engagement between the institutions.
•Consul General D C Manjunath highlighted the collaboration's alignment with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) for internationalisation of higher education.
•The partnership is seen as crucial for strengthening India–US higher education ties and promoting people-to-people connections through academic mobility and joint research.
•CGI Houston already has strong ties with the University of Houston, including an ICCR-supported Chair for Indian Studies focusing on Tamil, and geoscience data collaboration.
