Assam: 5 Arrested in Kamrup for Interstate Cyber Crimes, SIM Card Fraud

Five individuals nabbed in Kamrup district, Assam, for alleged involvement in interstate cyber crimes.

Police operation targeted an organized network involved in cyber fraud, illegal SIM card distribution, and misuse of documents for mule accounts.
•
Suspects illegally handled around 200 SIM cards and were part of a larger interstate syndicate.
•
Seizures included KYC documents of over 1,000 people, 54 bank passbooks, and 1,000 unissued SIM card covers.
•
Accused used women's IDs to activate mule SIMs and bank accounts for money laundering, and were involved in SIMBOX operations.
