Braj Holika Dahan Shifted to March 2 Due to Lunar Eclipse
•
Holika Dahan in Braj will be observed on March 2 instead of March 3 this year.
•
The change is due to a lunar eclipse falling on Phalgun Purnima (March 3).
•
Dhulendi, the festival of colors, will still be celebrated on March 4.
•
Scholars and astrologers in Braj agreed on the March 2 date as Holika Dahan cannot be performed during Pratipada.
•
The lunar eclipse on March 3 will last until 6:47 pm, after which Pratipada tithi commences.
