CBDT Seeks Stakeholder Input on New Income Tax Act, 2025 Rules

• CBDT invites suggestions on proposed Income Tax Rules and Forms for the Income-tax Act, 2025.
• The Income-tax Act, 2025, assented in August 2025, takes effect from April 1, 2026.
• Stakeholders can submit inputs via a dedicated link on the e-filing portal from February 4, 2026.
• Suggestions are sought in four categories: Simplification of Language, Reduction of Litigation, Reduction of Compliance Burden, and Identification of Redundant/Obsolete Rules and Forms.
• This initiative follows a budget announcement in July 2024 for a comprehensive review of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
