• Police in Beed, Maharashtra, thwarted an attempt to marry off a 16-year-old girl.
• The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued the teen from Kapildhar Temple.
• The girl was being married to a 24-year-old man from Shirur Kasar tehsil.
• Eight individuals, including the groom, his parents, the girl's parents, and her maternal uncle, fled the scene.
• A case has been registered under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, against those involved, including wedding guests and temple trustees.
