CM Vijayan Inaugurates CCRC, Calls for Public Health Awareness Hub

• Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Cochin Cancer and Research Centre (CCRC) at Kalamassery.
• CM Vijayan stated that such centers should function as health hubs to raise public awareness.
• Phase one of CCRC was completed at a cost of Rs 449 crore, funded by the Kerala Infrastructure and Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
• Vijayan highlighted the challenge of rising communicable, zoonotic, and lifestyle diseases in Kerala.
• He emphasized that most cancer cases can be prevented through lifestyle modifications, with KIIFB supporting major development projects.
