CPI(M) Slams ECI's 'Appreciation' Claim on Electoral Roll Revision in West Bengal
•CPI(M) wrote to ECI, protesting its assertion that "most political parties appreciated" the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal.
•CPI(M) state secretary Mohammed Salim stated the party consistently conveyed "grave reservations" to the ECI's full bench regarding the SIR exercise.
•The party called ECI's March 9 statement, claiming widespread appreciation for SIR, a "travesty of the truth."
•CPI(M) vehemently opposed the "arbitrary manner" of citing "logical discrepancies," which they claim harasses genuine voters.
•The party highlighted that over 60 lakh voters in West Bengal face anxiety and uncertainty regarding their right to vote due to these discrepancies.
