Delhi Govt Creates 9 New Wildlife Inspector Posts to Boost Biodiversity Protection

Delhi government approves nine new wildlife inspector posts for direct recruitment in the Department of Forests and Wildlife.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa states dedicated inspectors will protect Delhi's biodiversity and reduce urban ecosystem vulnerabilities.
•
Previously, the department had only one sanctioned wildlife inspector post at headquarters, leaving field divisions without dedicated personnel.
•
New posts aim to strengthen on-ground conservation, curb poaching, resolve conflicts, and enhance biodiversity management.
•
Eight of the nine posts will be filled through direct recruitment by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB).
