Delhi Govt to HC: Private Schools Can't Collect Unregulated Fees from April 1
•Delhi government informed the High Court that private schools are prohibited from collecting unregulated fees for the new academic session starting April 1.
•The government opposes petitions by school associations seeking a stay on directives to establish school-level fee regulation committees (SLFRCs).
•Additional Solicitor General S V Raju argued that schools cannot charge anything other than the approved fee under the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act.
•The February 1 notification, a 'Removal of Difficulties Order', aims to ensure fees are determined before the new academic session, benefiting schools, students, and parents.
•The court extended the deadline for forming SLFRCs to February 24 and will issue an order regarding the stay of the notification on the next hearing date.
