Delhi HC: Mere Breakup Not Enough for Abetment to Suicide
•
Delhi High Court states that merely breaking up may not amount to instigation for abetment of suicide.
•
Justice Manoj Jain made the observation while granting bail to a man accused of abetting his former partner's suicide.
•
The court noted that instigation should be such that it leaves the deceased with no option but to commit suicide.
•
There was no dying declaration, and the parties were in an 8-year relationship with no prior complaints.
•
The court observed a considerable time gap between the breakup and the suicide, suggesting it was a case of a broken relationship.
