Delhi Second Most Polluted City in January, Ghaziabad Tops List: CREA Report

Delhi was the second most polluted city in India in January, with a monthly average PM2.5 concentration of 169 micrograms per cubic metre.

Ghaziabad ranked as the most polluted city, recording 184 micrograms per cubic metre and exceeding daily national standards every day.
•
Delhi experienced 24 'Very Poor' and 3 'Severe' air quality days in January, according to CREA's analysis.
•
123 out of 248 cities across India exceeded the national PM2.5 standard, and none met WHO's daily safe guideline.
•
CREA analyst Manoj Kumar suggests NCAP revision should focus on PM2.5, precursor gases, stricter emission standards, and an airshed-based approach.
