DMK Allots Five Seats to CPI for TN Assembly Polls

•DMK has allotted five seats to its ally CPI for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
•The decision was made after several rounds of talks between the two parties.
•Talks were held at the DMK party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in Chennai.
•In the 2021 election, the CPI contested six seats.
•The state assembly election is scheduled to be held on April 23.

DMK-Congress Begin Formal Seat-Sharing Talks for Upcoming Assembly Election

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the Anbukkarangal scheme to offer financial support to the education of orphaned children or those who have lost one parent. Under the initiative, a monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 to children upto the age of 18 and helps them continue their education without a break. The government would provide support to the children to pursue their higher education too.

The Anbukkarangal scheme was launched under the Thayumanavar scheme and the monthly aid would be provided to 6,082 children every month, the CM said.
