DPCC Cracks Down: 108 Delhi Units Face Notices for Generator Emission Violations

  • The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) issued show cause notices and sealing memos to 108 industrial and commercial establishments.
  • These units were found operating non-compliant diesel generator (DG) sets, violating emission norms.
  • The action followed an enforcement drive from January 29 to February 3, inspecting 300 establishments in Delhi.
  • Defaulting units failed to upgrade DG sets with mandatory emission control systems or convert to cleaner fuel, violating CAQM protocols.
  • Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa emphasized zero tolerance for such violations, citing public health and environmental safety concerns.
