EC Appoints New SPs in 4 Tamil Nadu Districts Ahead of Assembly Polls

• The Election Commission of India directed the Tamil Nadu government to appoint new Superintendents of Police in Karur, Erode, Nagapattinam, and Virudhunagar districts.
• This decision was made after reviewing poll preparedness for the state's assembly elections, scheduled for April 23.
• D N Harikiran Prasad, D V Kiran Shruthi, Sujith Kumar, and N Shreenatha have been posted as SPs in Karur, Erode, Nagapattinam, and Virudhunagar respectively.
• The EC mandated immediate implementation of its directions and a compliance report by 11:00 am on Tuesday.
• Earlier, the EC had also transferred SSP-level officers in poll-bound Assam.
