ECI Briefs Central Observers for Upcoming Assembly Elections in 5 States/UT

• The Election Commission of India (ECI) held briefing meetings for General, Police, and Expenditure Observers for upcoming assembly elections.
• Observers will be deployed in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
• 1,444 officers, including 714 General Observers, 233 Police Observers, and 497 Expenditure Observers, attended the briefings.
• CEC Gyanesh Kumar emphasized that Observers are beacons for ECI and should energize the election machinery across 824 constituencies.
• Election Commissioners SS Sandhu and Vivek Joshi stressed accessibility, grievance redressal, and timely distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS).
