Former Sarpanch Booked for Opium Cultivation in Maharashtra

A case has been registered against a former village sarpanch in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district for allegedly cultivating opium.

The accused, Samadhan Ughade, a Shiv Sena (UBT) worker, is currently absconding.
•
Police raided Dasegaon after receiving information about opium farming.
•
Authorities seized approximately 400 kg of opium flowers, valued at Rs 72 lakh.
•
An FIR was filed at Washi police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and a search is underway for Ughade.
