Govt Powers 2.86 Crore Homes Under SAUBHAGYA, DDUGJY Schemes

• DDUGJY aimed to connect un-electrified census villages and strengthen rural electricity distribution.
• SAUBHAGYA sought universal household electrification by March 2019, covering rural and urban poor households.
• All 18,374 inhabited un-electrified census villages were electrified by April 28, 2018, under DDUGJY.
• A total of 2.86 crore households were electrified under SAUBHAGYA; both schemes closed on March 31, 2022.
