Govt Rejigs Gas Allocation: LPG, CNG, Piped Gas Get Top Priority Amid West Asia Conflict

Domestically produced natural gas now prioritizes LPG, CNG, and piped cooking gas due to West Asia conflict disrupting imports.

LPG added to the top priority list, joining CNG and piped cooking gas, ensuring 100% of their average past six-month consumption.

Fertiliser sector is second priority (70% allocation), followed by tea industries, manufacturing, and other industrial consumers (80%).

City gas distribution (CGD) entities for industrial/commercial consumers are fourth priority (80%), while refineries face 65% allocation.
•
Rejig aims to maintain essential supplies as LNG shipments via Strait of Hormuz are disrupted; GAIL manages allocation.
