Himachal Boosts Dairy Sector: Milkfed, NDDB Sign 3 MoUs for New Plants, ERP
- •Himachal government and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) signed three MoUs to strengthen the state's dairy sector.
- •Agreements include forming Kangra Milk Union, implementing ERP software in Milkfed, and establishing new processing/chilling plants in Sirmaur, Solan, Hamirpur, and Una districts.
- •A fully automated milk processing plant with 1.5 lakh liters/day capacity is being built at Dhagwar, Kangra, at a cost of Rs 250 crore, expected to start operations by October.
- •ERP software will digitize milk collection, quality testing, production, storage, and distribution, ensuring transparent and timely payments to farmers.
- •Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized strengthening the rural economy and ensuring direct payments to farmers; 'Him' brand products will be introduced.
