India Boosts Global Tourism Presence at ITB Berlin, Eyes 365-Day Destination Status
•India's participation in ITB Berlin 2026 aimed to strengthen partnerships and position the country as a premier 365-day global travel destination.
•Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat led the delegation, holding bilateral meetings with tourism ministers from Indonesia and Germany, and UNWTO Secretary General.
•Germany is India's 8th largest tourist source market, with 260,000 Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) in 2025.
•The India Pavilion showcased rich cultural diversity, niche tourism experiences, and traditional activities like mehendi and block printing.
•The ministry launched two short films curated by Netflix, part of a partnership to promote Indian destinations globally through 10 promotional videos.
