IUML Suspends Leader Over 'Derogatory' Remarks Against CPI(M) Woman MLA
•Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) suspended its leader A Irshad for alleged derogatory remarks against CPI(M) MLA U Prathibha.
•Irshad, a local IUML leader and Kayamkulam UDF convener, allegedly made objectionable comments during an election campaign.
•He claimed Prathibha was “selling” her eloquence and beauty to secure a third consecutive win and accused her of “failing” to work for the people.
•Irshad's party membership has been suspended, and he has been removed from the post of IUML Kayamkulam constituency chairman.
•Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the comments as “misogynistic and insulting,” and a complaint will be filed with the Election Commission and police.
