•External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi in New Delhi.
•Discussions focused on strengthening two-way cooperation in energy, trade, and investment.
•The meeting coincided with the formal launch of negotiations for an India-GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
•Jaishankar expressed confidence that the FTA will further elevate the partnership.
•The GCC is India's largest trading partner bloc, with bilateral trade reaching USD 178.56 billion in 2024-25.
