Japan's KTD Enters Indian Energy Market, Acquires 10% Stake in OMC Power for Rs 160 Cr
•Kansai Transmission and Distribution (KTD) has acquired a 10% stake in OMC Power for Rs 160 crore, marking its entry into the Indian energy market.
•KTD, part of Kansai Electric Power, becomes the fourth Japanese entity to invest in OMC Power, joining Mitsui & Co, Chubu Electric Power, and Honda Motor Co Ltd.
•The investment will accelerate OMC Power's goal of building a 1 gigawatt (GW) renewable energy portfolio and developing its smart grids business vertical.
•With this latest investment, the share of Japanese entities in OMC Power has reached approximately 67%.
•KTD aims to bring reliable, clean energy to grassroots communities across India and contribute to OMC Power's 1 GW ambition.
