Jitendra Singh Launches Open Call for RDI Fund Proposals to Boost Indigenous Tech

• Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh launched an open call for proposals under the Rs 1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund.
• The initiative aims to commercialize laboratory-proven technologies (TRL-4 and above) to strengthen India's innovation ecosystem.
• The Technology Development Board (TDB) will act as the second-level fund manager for the RDI Fund.
• The fund seeks to bridge the gap in direct government-backed financial support for private sector innovation, enabling enterprises to scale indigenous technologies.
• Funding support, up to 50% of project cost, will be provided through loans, equity, or hybrid instruments, with matching contributions from companies or private investors.
