JU Professors Injured Intervening in Student Clash Over ICC Elections

Two Jadavpur University professors, Rajeshwar Sinha and Lalit Lalitav Mahakudh, were injured while trying to break up a student clash.
•
The clash erupted between CPI(M)'s student wing SFI and 'We The Independent' (WTI) over upcoming Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) elections.
•
Professors were pushed, punched, and attacked during the scuffle; Sinha sustained eye and nose injuries, requiring observation.
•
JU Vice Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya condemned the "unprecedented incident" and called for prevention of recurrence.
•
No formal police complaint has been lodged by either the university or the students involved in the incident.
