• Taxpayers will no longer need to file returns after paying the flat rate of Rs 2,500 professional tax.
• The bill aligns legal provisions with technological changes and extends exemptions from filing returns for certain categories like senior citizens, armed forces, and persons with disabilities.
• Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated the move will improve governance, ease compliance, and reduce unnecessary paperwork.
