Karnataka Minister urges calm amid LPG shortage; Hotels asked to switch to electric stoves

Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa appealed to the public not to panic over the LPG shortage caused by the West Asia conflict.
•
He urged hotels to temporarily switch to electric stoves, noting that 1,000 LPG cylinders per day are earmarked for the hotel industry.
•
Essential services like hospitals, educational institutions, and railway canteens are receiving 100% supply, accounting for 5,200 cylinders daily.
•
The state is permitted to use 9,500 LPG cylinders daily, with 4,200 for essential services and 4,200 for domestic consumption.
•
Muniyappa cautioned against panic booking and expressed hope for improvement next week as additional shipments are expected.
