Kerala Cabinet Approves Poverty Plan, Anti-Drug Bureau, NRI Police Station
•Kerala Cabinet approved a comprehensive poverty plan (EPEP 2.0) to assist families above the extreme poverty threshold and prevent relapse.
•A Kerala State Narcotic Control Bureau will be established within the Excise Department to prevent and investigate drug-related offenses.
•41 new positions sanctioned for specialized mobile squads to address atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Agali, Mananthavady, and Kasaragod.
•A dedicated NRI Police Station, with 25 positions, will be set up at the State Police Headquarters to handle complaints and legal matters for expatriates.
•K G Sanalkumar proposed for the position of the new State Election Commissioner.
