Lioness Kills Woman in Gujarat Village; Big Cat Trapped

• A 45-year-old woman, Manjulaben Solanki, was mauled to death by a lioness in Govindpur village, Amreli district, Gujarat.
• The attack occurred while Solanki was washing clothes at a river under the Dalkhaniya range of Gir East forest division.
• Villagers attempted to rescue her and rushed her to a hospital, where she was declared dead.
• Forest department personnel successfully trapped the lioness in a cage.
• The big cat has been shifted to a rescue center following the incident.
