Man Booked for Alleged Triple Talaq Over Phone, Cruelty to Wife in Kerala

• A 32-year-old man, Suhail, has been booked for allegedly pronouncing triple talaq over the phone and subjecting his wife to cruelty in Kerala.
• The case was registered at Muvattupuzha police station under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.
• Suhail, a native of Karthikappally taluk, allegedly demanded additional dowry and forced his wife to live separately after their 2016 marriage.
• On May 21, 2025, he reportedly made abusive calls, threatened her, and later sent an SMS stating he had divorced her via talaq.
• The complainant alleged continuous physical and mental cruelty; police investigation is ongoing.
