Ministry of Culture Launches Global Engagement Scheme to Promote Indian Arts Abroad
•
Ministry of Culture implements "Global Engagement Scheme" (GES) to promote India’s cultural heritage internationally.
•
627 artists/groups, including 31 from Uttar Pradesh, are empanelled to perform in Festival of India (FoIs) abroad.
•
ICCR sponsored 52 folk art troupes for international cultural performances over the last five years.
•
Rs. 2.58 crore allocated for FY 2025-26 to Indo-Foreign Friendship Societies for international art and culture promotion.
•
Selection criteria for artists include prior performance experience and ability to explain art forms; OCI card required for foreign nationals.
