Mizoram MP Urges Centre to Fast-Track Border Road Projects for Security, Trade

• Mizoram MP K Vanlalvena urged the Centre to expedite three key road projects, two along the Indo-Myanmar border.
• The MP highlighted the lack of high-capacity connectivity to the Myanmar border and congestion between Aizawl and Sairang railway station.
• Vanlalvena requested designating Hnahthial to Saisihchhuah routes as national highways to strengthen national security and boost trade.
• Myanmar completed a double-lane highway to Saisihchhuah in 2020, while India lacks proper road connectivity for large-scale trade.
• The MP also called for upgrading the 21-km Aizawl-Sairang corridor to a four-lane highway due to increased traffic from Sairang railway station.
