Nepal Elections: Campaigning Begins for March 5 Polls

• Political parties in Nepal officially began campaigning on Monday for the March 5 general elections.
• The Election Commission (EC) designated February 16 to March 2 for formal campaign activities, including public meetings and rallies.
• All campaigning must cease 48 hours before the general election, from midnight on March 2.
• There are 18,903,689 eligible voters, with 915,119 newly registered, for the upcoming polls.
• Over 213,000 staff and 330,000 security personnel will ensure smooth conduct of elections at 10,500 polling stations.
