Odisha launches officer training for major voter list revision
•
Odisha begins 4-day state-level training for election officials ahead of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls starting April 1.
•
CEO RS Gopalan inaugurated the program in Bhubaneswar, focusing on updating and purifying voter lists, last done two decades ago.
•
Training covers revision procedures, mapping with the 2002 voter list, data collection, and field implementation for EROs and other officials.
•
Officials are also being trained on appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs), digitisation of forms, and setting up hearing camps for claims.
•
Around 90% of voters are already mapped with the 2002 electoral roll, with a target of 95% completion within 10 days.
