Pakistan acts as 'bridge builder' to de-escalate West Asia tensions: FO
•Pakistan is playing the role of a bridge builder to help de-escalate current tensions in West Asia, says Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi.
•Andrabi confirmed open communication channels between Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries.
•Pakistan is also engaging with the US at various diplomatic levels, including a call between the Foreign Secretary and US Under Secretary of State.
•PM Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, offering condolences for Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's martyrdom.
•Pakistan demands verifiable assurances from Afghanistan that its territory will not be used for terrorism against Pakistan, continuing existing policy due to lack of assurances. Concerns also raised over Canada-India uranium deal.
