Pakistan, IMF Reach USD 1.2 Billion Fund Deal After Virtual Talks

Pakistan and IMF reached a staff-level agreement for the disbursement of approximately USD 1.2 billion.
•
The deal covers the third review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the second review under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
•
Talks began in person from February 25 to March 2 in Karachi and Islamabad, concluding virtually.
•
Subject to IMF board approval, Pakistan will access USD 1.0 billion under EFF and USD 210 million under RSF.
•
Pakistani authorities are committed to sound macroeconomic policies and structural reforms to accelerate growth and strengthen social protection.
