Phishing message service busted by CBI; 3 held, 21,000 SIMs found

• CBI busted a gang providing phishing message services to cyber criminals, arresting three operatives.
• The gang facilitated fake loan and investment offers, using 21,000 fraudulently obtained SIM cards for bulk messaging.
• Telecom channel partners and employees are suspected of illegally arranging SIM cards for the fraud.
• The operation, based in NCR and Chandigarh, was used by cyber criminals, including those abroad, to send lakhs of fraudulent messages daily.
• CBI identified Lord Mahavira Services India Pvt. Ltd. via the Sanchar Saathi platform and seized digital evidence, cash, and cryptocurrency.
