PM Gati Shakti's NPG Evaluates Key Infra Projects for Multimodal Connectivity
•The Network Planning Group (NPG) under PM Gati Shakti held its 110th meeting to evaluate key infrastructure projects.
•Projects include 2 rail, 2 metro, and 2 road/highway initiatives, focusing on integrated multimodal infrastructure and last-mile connectivity.
•Rail projects involve doubling the Chengalpattu-Arakkonam line in Tamil Nadu and quadrupling the Whitefield-Bangarpet section in Karnataka to boost logistics efficiency on the Bengaluru-Chennai corridor.
•Metro projects include Mumbai Metro Line 11 (Anik Depot to Gateway of India) and Pune Metro Line 4 extensions (4B and 4C) to enhance urban connectivity.
•A 2.65 km Fotu La Tunnel in Ladakh was also evaluated to provide all-weather connectivity on the Srinagar-Leh corridor, reducing travel time and improving safety.
