Polestar Orders Two 60-Ton Green Tugs from CSL for JNPA Green Tug Transition Programme

• Mumbai-based Polestar Maritime Ltd has ordered two 60-ton bollard pull battery-electric green tugs from Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL).
• These vessels will be deployed at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) as part of the government's Green Tug Transition Programme (GTTP).
• The tugs will be built based on designs from Robert Allan Ltd and constructed jointly by CSL and Udupi Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
• Equipped with battery-electric propulsion, the tugs will have zero direct emissions during harbor operations, with domestically sourced batteries.
