Punjab Minister Hails 'Mukh Mantri Mavan Dhiyan da Satkar' as World's Biggest Women's Cash Scheme

•Punjab Minister Aman Arora lauded the 'Mukh Mantri Mavan Dhiyan da Satkar' scheme as the "world's biggest cash transfer scheme to women."
•The scheme provides Rs 1,000 monthly to General category women and Rs 1,500 to Scheduled Caste women.
•Announced by CM Bhagwant Mann, it aligns with AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal's vision and was highlighted on International Women's Day.
•The 2026-27 budget, called an "affidavit of progress," also increased education spending by 7% and allocated Rs 1,791 crore for sports.
•Other benefits include Rs 10 lakh health insurance, free bus travel, and 600 units of free electricity, primarily aiding women and families.
