Puri Jagannath Temple: Drones Flew Illegally 10 Times in 19 Months, Minister Reveals

Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed the Odisha assembly about 10 illegal drone operations over Puri Jagannath Temple in 19 months.
•
Ten cases have been registered at Singhadwar police station; 8 cases are ongoing, and final reports submitted for 2.
•
The temple area is a "no flying zone" by DGCA until September 25, 2028, prohibiting drones and UAVs.
•
700 people entered the temple with mobile phones without permission since June 2024, incurring Rs 6.93 lakh in penalties.
•
Devotees donated over Rs 304.57 crore and 58 kg of mixed gold to the temple over various periods.
