Sebi Extends Ban on 7 Agri Commodity Derivatives Trading Until March 2027

Markets regulator Sebi extends suspension of derivatives trading in seven agricultural commodities.
•
The ban, aimed at reining in prices, is now effective until March 31, 2027.
•
Commodities include wheat, moong, paddy (non-basmati), chana, crude palm oil, mustard seeds, and soybean.
•
The directive, originally issued in December 2021, has been extended multiple times.
•
Market participants can square off existing positions, but no new futures trading is allowed.
