Sena MP Demands New Thane Station Be Named After Anand Dighe

•Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske demanded the upcoming railway station between Thane and Mulund be named 'Dharmveer Anand Dighe Station'.
•Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw approved Rs 250 crore for the new station, with the proposal forwarded to the Railway Board.
•The new station aims to decongest the busy Thane railway station, a primary transport hub for Thane's 26 lakh population.
•Anand Dighe was a senior Shiv Sena leader and mentor to state Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
•Mhaske also sought early approval for Thane station's Rs 949 crore upgradation and restoration of senior citizen concessions.
