• Suspended Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed joined the Raijor Dal on Tuesday.
• Ahmed is the second Congress legislator to switch to the Akhil Gogoi-led outfit in two days.
• He was welcomed by Gogoi and other senior leaders at a program in Kalgachia, Barpeta district.
• Ahmed, a three-time MLA from Baghbor, will seek nomination from Mandia constituency in the upcoming assembly elections.
• He was suspended from Congress in October 2021 for violating party discipline and was arrested for 'provocative' remarks.
