Taiwan detects 17 Chinese sorties, 7 vessels near its territory; rejects 'reunification' call

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected 17 Chinese sorties, seven naval vessels, and an official ship around its territorial waters.
•
14 of the 17 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern, southwestern, and southeastern ADIZ.
•
This follows a similar detection on Wednesday of nine Chinese military aircraft, eight naval vessels, and an official ship.
•
Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council rejected Beijing’s renewed call for “reunification,” calling it an attempt at Taiwan’s “annihilation.”
•
Chinese official Wang Huning urged advancing “national reunification” and vowed to crack down on “separatists.”
