Tiger on the Move: From Yadadri to Jangaon, Villagers on High Alert

  • A tiger, previously sighted in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district near Hyderabad, has now moved to Jangaon district, Telangana.
  • Pugmarks were discovered in a village in Lingala Ghanpur mandal, prompting officials to issue precautions to local residents.
  • The tiger is believed to have originated from the Kawal tiger reserve area in Mancherial district, bordering Maharashtra, and traveled approximately 250 kms.
  • Before reaching Jangaon, the big cat had been active in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district since January 17, marking its first presence near Hyderabad in 50 years.
  • Despite avoiding direct human contact, the tiger killed eight animals, mostly cows, in Yadadri district.
