TN Temples Close for Lunar Eclipse, Reopen After Purification Rituals

Several temples across Tamil Nadu restricted darshan timings on Tuesday due to a total lunar eclipse.
•
Marundeeswar temple, Sri Meenakshi Sundareshwar temple, Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple, and Subramaniaswamy temple were among those closed.
•
The TTD temple at T Nagar also remained closed for the eclipse.
•
Temples will reopen for darshan after purification rituals are performed.
•
The first total lunar eclipse of the year will be visible in Chennai and Kanyakumari for up to 31 minutes from 6:17 pm.
