UMEED Waqf Portal Closes Uploads; Over 5 Lakh Properties Initiated

• The UMEED Central Portal for Waqf property management officially closed for uploads on December 6, completing its six-month window as per the UMEED Act, 1995 and Supreme Court directions.
• Launched on June 6 by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, the portal saw a significant surge in uploads as the deadline approached.
• A total of 5,17,040 Waqf properties were initiated on the portal, with 2,16,905 approved and 2,13,941 submitted and in the pipeline.
• Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf board recorded the highest number of initiated properties (86,345) and properties initiated for uploading (10,110).
• The Ministry of Minority Affairs conducted extensive workshops, training sessions, and review meetings to support the national exercise and ensure timely uploads.
